Overview

Premium Cardamom from Kenya

Cardamom pods are harvested from cardamom plants when mature, dried using traditional or mechanical methods to reduce moisture content while preserving essential oils and aromatic compounds. The dried pods are sorted by size, colour, and quality, inspected for defects and insect damage, and packed in food-grade containers with moisture barriers to maintain flavour potency and shelf stability. Cardamom is exported meeting international food safety standards and traceability requirements for spice and flavouring applications.

Cardamom is sourced and exported by Jabali Madini Ltd from Kenya through the Port of Mombasa to spice blenders, food manufacturers, and beverage companies across Europe, North America, the Middle East, South Asia, and East Africa. Consistent demand exists from curry spice manufacturers, bakery suppliers, tea and coffee producers, and specialty food companies. The product is available FOB Mombasa in 20-foot container quantities with lead times of 2 to 4 weeks. Export documentation includes certificates of origin, bills of lading, phytosanitary clearance, and quality analysis reports.

Who Buys This Product

Our cardamom is imported by buyers across the following industry segments:

Spice Blend and Curry Manufacturers

Spice millers grind or blend whole cardamom pods into curry powders, garam masala, and spice mixes for retail distribution and food manufacturing supply. The distinctive warm flavour and aromatic profile are essential to authentic curry formulations and provide consistent taste across commercial spice blends.

Bakery and Confectionery Companies

Bakeries incorporate ground cardamom into breads, cakes, pastries, and biscuits where the spice adds flavour complexity and cultural authenticity to specialty baked goods. The aromatic compounds enhance product appeal and justify premium positioning in artisanal and industrial bakery applications.

Tea, Coffee, and Beverage Producers

Tea and coffee companies use whole or ground cardamom in specialty blends, chai formulations, and flavoured beverages where the spice delivers warm notes and consumer appeal. The essential oil content remains stable during beverage production, ensuring consistent flavour delivery in both hot and cold applications.
