Overview

Premium Cocoa Beans from Kenya

Cocoa beans are harvested from cocoa pods, fermented in traditional boxes or heaps for 5 to 7 days to develop flavour precursors and eliminate bitterness, then dried using sun-drying or mechanical methods to achieve optimal moisture levels. The fermented and dried beans are sorted, inspected for defects and mould, and packed in food-grade jute or polypropylene bags for export. Cocoa beans meet international food safety standards and phytosanitary requirements for chocolate and cocoa manufacturing.

Cocoa beans are sourced and exported by Jabali Madini Ltd from Kenya through the Port of Mombasa to chocolate manufacturers, cocoa processors, and confectionery companies across Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East. Consistent demand exists from industrial chocolate makers, craft chocolate producers, and cocoa powder manufacturers. The product is available FOB Mombasa in 20-foot container quantities with lead times of 2 to 4 weeks. Export documentation includes certificates of origin, bills of lading, phytosanitary clearance, and quality testing reports confirming fermentation levels and moisture content.

Who Buys This Product

Our cocoa beans are imported by buyers across the following industry segments:

Industrial Chocolate Manufacturers

Large-scale chocolate makers roast, grind, and process cocoa beans into chocolate liquor and cocoa products for inclusion in chocolate bars, spreads, and confectionery items. The consistent fermentation quality and fat content ensure reliable chocolate tempering, texture, and flavour consistency across high-volume production batches.

Craft and Specialty Chocolate Producers

Artisanal chocolate makers source fermented cocoa beans to produce single-origin and blended chocolates where bean quality directly influences final product taste and market positioning. The flavour complexity developed through proper fermentation supports premium pricing and consumer recognition of craft chocolate products.

Cocoa Powder and Cocoa Product Manufacturers

Cocoa processors roast and grind beans to produce cocoa powder, cocoa butter, and cocoa liquor for ingredient supply to bakeries, beverage manufacturers, and confectionery makers. The fermentation quality ensures appropriate colour, flavour intensity, and processing characteristics in finished cocoa products.
